The Center Chorale and The Center Children's Chorus are not meeting due to the Covid 19 virus.
We hope to re-group again as soon as safety allows us to sing together and share wonderful,
uplifting music with our community.
Thank you for continuing to support Escondido Choral Arts through these challenging times.
The Center Chorale
Music Bringing Us Together
The Center Chorale is an ensemble of choral singers, endorsed by the California Center for the Arts, Escondido, performing choral literature of past masterworks and Twentieth and Twenty-first Century compositions in a variety of styles. The ensemble partners with the Center Children's Chorus in promoting vocal music in our community. The Center Chorale is dedicated to excellence in performance and education and also to preserving the tradition of singing as an expression of art.
The Center Children's Chorus
Sing and Be Inspired
The Center Children’s and Youth Chorus, at the Center for the Arts, Escondido, provides opportunities to learn about music in a friendly and fun environment. Musical literacy and participation in the art of choral singing with their peers, as well as in combination with the Center Chorale are goals of this children's chorus. We perform several times during our season in many different venues in our community including the beautiful California Center for the Arts concert hall and performance theatre.
From the Artistic Director- Dr. Joe Stanford
Dear Friends of Escondido Choral Arts,
The Board of Directors of Escondido Choral Arts has, at my request, engaged a new conductor of The Center Chorale. Our choice is a brilliant musician right here in our own community, Justin Gray. We look forward to Justin’s youthful energy and musical excellence in the coming years. Although I am handing over the baton to Justin, I will remain as Artistic Director of ECAF in the interim and will continue to work together with Justin to insure the future of choral singing in our community.
We have come a long way in the past eight years. My desire has always been to couple standard masterworks in the choral repertoire with exciting new works such as Alec Roth’s A Time to Dance and Stephen Sturk’s One Small Step, World Premiere for the 50th anniversary of NASA’s moon landing. We are committed to continue in that repertoire tradition, taking pride in offering quality music that is not often heard and works on the cutting edge of the choral repertoire.
We will be making beautiful music again when it is safe for singers to rehearse and audience to come hear us. Exciting plans starting in the fall of 2021 will be announced soon in anticipation that our community will be hungry for music. Our singers are certainly ready to warm up their voices and come work together.
Please be safe, get vaccinated when it is available and hold tight—the best is yet to be!
Warmest Regards, Joe Stanford
