Maurice Duruflé’s beautiful Requiem is a romantic, yet renaissance-sounding setting of traditional burial texts. Robert Giracello, music director at Church of the Resurrection and an accomplished musician and composer, has written a Te Deum setting on an ancient text of joyful praise for chorus and organ. Flos Campi, written by a well-known English composer, R. Vaughan Williams, is Latin for “flower of the field” and is based on verses from the Old Testament Song of Solomon. The solo viola creates a mini concerto with chorus and orchestra that is both unusual and unbelievably beautiful! See you there!
